Questions to ask a producer when buying BEEF!

1. Did you raise the animal from birth? What was the history of the animal?

2. How much and how long raw milk did it get? 1 day? 10 weeks? 6 months?

3. What percent of its diet in the 1st year was grain, fresh grass, hay?

4. What percent of its diet in the 2nd year was grain, fresh grass, hay?

5. If grain, was it organic grain? non-GMO grain? How can you know it was non-GMO?

6. When the animal gets sick, what medicines are used? Where are they bought?

7. When the animals gets sick, what veterinarian is used? Where is he/she located?

8. Did it have any growth hormones?

9. Did it have any antibiotics?

Delicious Sloppy Joe

1.5 lb. Grassfed Organic hamburger

1 small onion

1 tsp. salt

Dash of Pepper

****brown these ingredients together, then add...*****

1 cup organic Ketchup

1/4 - 1/2 c. water

1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar

1 TBSP Honey

1 1/2 TBSP Worcestershire Sauce

1/2 tsp Mustard

1 cup Celery

2 TBSP Lemon Juice

Dash of Liquid Smoke

Lasagna

    Ingredients:

     2 lbs. ground grass-fed beef
     onion
     garlic salt
     1 pkg. lasagna noodles
     16 oz. cottage cheese
     lg. jar organic spaghetti sauce
     1 tsp. pepper
     2 free-range organic eggs (beaten)
     2 cups shredded raw milk mozzarella cheese
     1 tsp. salt
     6 large mushrooms


Directions:

Cook noodles. Brown beef, onion, & garlic salt. Add mushrooms & sauce and simmer. In separate bowl, combine cottage cheese, pepper, salt, eggs, and 1˝ cup mozz. cheese.

Layer noodles, meat sauce, and then cottage cheese mixture. Continue to layer until all ingredients are gone. (I usually get two layers) Sprinkle remaining 1˝ cups mozz. cheese on top.

Bake @ 350 for 30 to 35 min.
